On the other hand toy weapons are packed in a normal bag or suitcase not a carry on bag.
I have never had one of these so i its not going to upset me if i can bring it. The only exception is a sports parachute which is allowed on board. With the approval of your airline you can bring heat producing articles such as battery operated underwater lamps and soldering equipment in your baggage as long as the heat producing component or battery is removed. As long as you make sure to tell the employees that you have something like that steamer it should be fine.
However rules and guidelines vary from one airport or airline to another. Read the guidelines for traveling with firearms. Bring headphones too if you. You can bring portable electronics books laptops paper magazines anything that will help you get through those long plane rides.
All these objects are not allowed to come in the cabin with you. I dont want to take it only to get it taken away. As a general rule you will most certainly have to put your equipment in the hold. This is the case for most sports equipment including tennis rackets walking sticks or crampons.

Those along with other sharp objects such as a box cutter or switchblade are only allowed in checked luggage. Yes special instructions firearms carried in checked bags must be unloaded packed in a locked hard sided container and declared to the airline at check in. For your convenience the steamer should also be efficient at its job. I just got a small hand held travel steamer for clothes and etc.
Check with your airline to see if they allow firearms in checked bags. Not so much. If not it s fine just in your luggage.
