Can You Put Bleach In A Pool
Olivia Luz
If you are simply using straight chlorine bleach you will need to take some additional steps to ensure that the water maintains proper levels and keeps your pool water clean.
Clorox used to be an acceptable source of bleach but they ve begun trying to spice up. The short answer is yes. Bleach additives can harm the pool so a generic household bleach works best. Do not forget however when you add liquid bleach to a pool you still have to add a small amount of stabilizer so the sunlight doesn t eliminate the bleach molecules immediately.
You should be able to prevent over stabilization. In many parts of the country plain 6 household bleach is the cheapest and sometimes the easiest way to chlorinate your pool. Daily adjustment of bleach to your pool water will result in a relatively constant level of active sanitizing chlorine that will be cheaper and easier to maintain over time. You can and should use bleach if you re maintaining your own pool.
Bleach is perfectly safe to add to your pool as it s a safe sanitizer. What you want is plain generic bleach no scent no easy pour spout no national brand. Chlorine bleach as discussed above is not bound to a stabilizer so when you add chlorine bleach to the pool it will go right to work killing microbes and sanitizing. This step should not be too difficult since you are controlling the amount of stabilizer.
