Can You Put Coffee Grounds In The Sink
Camila Farah
Unlike most foods coffee grounds clump together in water rather than breaking down.
With time the grounds can build up inside your sink drains creating clogs that can prohibit the drains from doing their job. Coffee grounds should always go in the trash can. Why is there a weird smell from my sink. Simple because coffee grounds bond together in water rather than break apart.
There are also people who suggest using citrus rinds as a fresh smelling drain solution but more on that later. If you ve been putting these down your drain and they combine with say oils or fats then you can have a serious clog that will require professional help to fix. If you have a food disposal coffee grounds can serve as a benefit to clearing out the grinding mechanisms and making your drain smell better. They also serve as a nice fertilizer for your garden if you have a green thumb.
Especially for people with septic tanks coffee can clog the pipes and harm septic tanks if they are not properly discarded.
