Get the company to stock legal gas cans at the station so when people try to use a milk jug you can stop them and say sir ma am you have to use an approved container and we just happen to sell them for 4 95.
So the customer can see the amount the quality of the gas. It is not a best practice to put gasoline into a milk jug. It also gives off fumes that could be flammable. I knew that both milk jugs and gas cans are made of hdpe plastic so i didn t have to worry about the gas eating the plastic.
Milk jugs are specifically designed for holding milk and not flammable substances. It d be a shame for it to go to waste. Of course you can try but it is fraught with danger. But it is also very thin and will possibly burst if dropped and is easily punctured.
The indents also come into play even if the milk doesn t get dropped on the ground. This does carry a risk because gas cans have thicker plastic which can withstand more heat and are less likely to leak from the cap.
