Olivia Luz
Face painting is a fun safe activity that any kid can enjoy.
Is it safe to apply on my face. There are chemicals that are in acrylic paints that if accidentally got in the eye or mouth can be. While acrylic as a component is non toxic there are components in the pigments that can still be toxic when inhaled ingested and of course if used in direct contact with one s skin. Unfortunately it contains ingredients that are not suitable for skin contact.
Many people are allergic to the non fda approved chemicals and colorants used in craft paints such as nickel and will break out in a rash from these paints. The scent is a possible health risk. It s not completely non toxic. To paint a face using acrylics you ll need a variety of paint colors so you can blend the right skin eye and hair color for your portrait.
The main reasons why. Acrylic craft paints are not meant to be used on the skin nor are watercolor markers or pencils. On its face acrylic paints are safe especially when you will use it for its intended purpose painting. Just use the paint that is made for face painting and nothing.

Because of the ingredients it contains it is advisable to stay away from any form of paint on your skin to prevent any unwanted side effects. As a professional face painter i would recommend using paints specifically for face painting. It is not what it does to your surface skin that you can see it is what is absorbed into the skin that could hurt you in the future.
