Camila Farah
I made bread using powdered sugar instead of granulated on a one to one equivalence.
Probably not but depends on what you mean by powdered sugar. I have also added it to tea batter for chicken and honey mustard sauce. This is because companies choose to use different names just for branding purposes. In the uk it would usually mean super fine granulated sugar hard to find in us and would be ok.
I wouldn t use powdered sugar to make sweet tea because it contains corn starch. It won t work in tea. As someone else mentioned most powdered sugar has starch added to it to make flow more freely so it s best used for solid goods such as in baking. Unless you cancel.

A good rule of thumb is to start off with less powdered sugar and add more after you taste it to make sure it s not too sweet. Powdered sugar isn t typically used for simple beverage sweetening.

In some recipes the powdered sugar is referred to as icing sugar or confectioners sugar so if you want to make a macaron and you can t find sugar that is labelled as powdered sugar you can simply search for the other terms i have highlighted. You can get white sugar in regular granulated form or finer ground as icing sugar or confectioner s sugar. Like the others i prefer tea flavored tea but trying to answer. In a pinch you could use it to sweeten tea that you re going to drink immediately but a large batch could become cloudy from the starch.
It s definitely not ideal.
