As you can see that s my obnoxious way to say yes lol but on a serious note don t wear a hat it is really disrespectful it equivilant to you wearing a very revealing top or shorts idk why but that s what i was thought not only at home but also during catechism and confirmation classes plus you don t have to get dress up to go to the lords house if you wear pj s it wount make a difference to.
It also prohibited men from wearing hats in church. They wear a head covering at all times and wear fancy wigs just for their husbands. A hat should definitely be removed in church. Even a generation ago when men commonly wore hats the headgear was removed indoors or even outdoors in the presence of a woman.
The rule to be followed during all sacred rites was unambiguous. Perhaps you should speak to the person who asked you to take your hat off in private and inform them of your circumstances.
