Can You Write A Check In Red Ink
Olivia Luz
Can you write a check in red for a us bank.
The color of the ink makes no difference. You can use blue ink though. In the us one of the major bank s scanners did not record a cheque written in red ink marked the cheque as fraudulent and caused a couple s account to be shut down leaving them without access to their money to pay the mortgage or bills and even a trip to the bank did not resolve the issue. No because when it s copied the bank is supp posed to send copies instead of canceled checks now days is the only time the writing would be readable.
Q my husband s grandma wrote us each. If they end up accepting it someone at the bank will. But on contracts it has to be black ink. In the bank computer system it shows up as blank and is automatically sent to the fraud unit.
A heads up here folks. So in the twilight days of cheque writing we read a cautionary tale of using red ink when writing a cheque. Occasionally they will accept it but the scanners in clearing houses cannot see the red ink.
