I washed dp car mats on cold in our old washer and everything had black marks on for 2 weeks thing something came off the rubber onto the seal of the washer or something and transfered onto clothes.
Next time you wash your car hang them on the place provided for car mats and just squirt them off at the car wash. Probably would not put them in the washer and dryer unless you have like a commercial grade unit. I know not to dry them in a drier also.
